Spoken English Course

Vidyabhavan Trust and Smt. S. R Mehta Arts College jointly, initiated the self-finance course in the year 2007 with a batch of 30 students.

The six weeks course with classes from Monday to Friday and a fee of Rs. 750/- became a much sought after course. As a result of the growing demand and overwhelming response from the students, one more batch was added the subsequent year. The classes are held at the college campus with the support of experienced visiting Faculty. Audio-visual aids, group discussions, skit and activities based learning are some of the highlights of the course. The course is inclusive of Grooming and Personality development as additional features. On completion of the course the students are tested for their language proficiency, a requisite for procurement of certificate. Students studying in any of the colleges of Navgujarat Campus are eligible to join this course.

Proof-reading course

It is a certified- course started in 2008, with a fee of Rs.600/-. The classes are conducted thrice a week. The three-month course comprises 36 lectures. This job-oriented course trains the students in proof-reading. With the tremendous growth of newspapers, News channels, and fast growing publishing industries, the skilled proof readers are in great demand. Regular lectures, interactive sessions with well-known publishers and practical exercises held in the class-rooms are the highlights of this course. Deserving students are also placed well in the industry. Avenues are also provided for free-lancing on successful completion of the course. Only students of Smt. S.R Mehta Arts college are eligible for joining this course.
